KAISEKI | 料理人上田 (UEDA Washoku Lounge & Dining)

Took me sometime to catch up with all these new ‘Kaiseki’ places mushrooming in town. Said to have honed his skill at a Ehime Ryokan and had the chance to serve the Prince, Ueda-san took on a more down to earth approach here in town and offered a few reasonably priced options with an unexpectedly comprehensive sake list. Accompanied by a bottle of slightly fizzy and fresh one from Matsumoto Shozu where my fellow dining friend happened to have just visited coincidently, it was a solid menu if without much sparks. Sake selection, location at a fair price is the draw.
