Long overdue write up about this hidden gem. Thanks to fellow Japanese blogger R featuring it over the years, paid a visit more than a year back and it was certainly worth the trip despite it being a bit off central Tokyo and the need to be there early in the evening to secure a seat. Crudely described as the ‘Gout Nabe’ by blogger R, this seasonal dish that featured the best stuff of the season from Monk Fish, Ankimo, Shirako to Oyster and not to be forgotten its handmade flat noodles to soak up all the essence in the end is certainly a once in a lifetime experience. Best atmosphere one can have indeed as it just can’t get anymore local than that with all the unrestrained drinking and smoking all around, this is certainly one of the must to put on the ‘to visit’ list. As its namesake suggests, however, be aware of one’s proper dosage as it is certainly no mean feat.
